Bloom, regardless.


Maybe you’ve been neglected for a season.

You haven’t been watered.

You haven’t been fed.

No one has checked on you to see how you are fairing.

You were never planted. Your roots are bound in a pot

that’s too small.

You haven’t been pruned.

You haven’t been shaped.

You haven’t been treated for disease.

No one has rid you of the pests that hover day in

and day out.

This season has been so very, very long.
